A scenic pond in Angus has attracted some new visitors for the winter.
A “fairy door” has been discovered next to Keptie Pond in Arbroath by a group committed to keeping the popular spot free of litter.
The Friends of Keptie Pond said they found the door ahead of an attempt to find the “Keptie Kelpie fairy” on Sunday from 11am.
A spokesman said: “Angus Council, who are promoting the event, are considering leaving a purple bin at the door and a fortnightly pick up over the next few months to make life a bit easier for her.
“Perhaps if you can find her you can ask her what we can do to help her return to the water and be a ‘real kelpie’ again.”
The Food Life Group is offering a “golden ticket” for the event, which gives the winner a selection of local food at the picnic.
Montrose Basin is supervising pond dipping and there will be attractions for all the family.
The Friends were recently formed under the umbrella of Arbroath in Bloom to help in the care of the popular attraction.
The Friends would welcome other volunteers to join in their efforts at the pond.
