UPDATE: Arbroath house fire drama

Emergency crews have dealt with a house fire in Arbroath.

They were called to the property in Alexandra Place on Wednesday after reports of a blaze in the semi-detached property.

Three Scottish Fire and Rescue appliances, Police and an ambulance attended the incident.

An Arbroath fire crew was joined by two appliances from Dundee’s Kingsway, who were training in the area and were diverted to the incident.

Firefighters used one main jet and two hose reel jets to bring the kitchen fire under control.

A female occupant of the house is understood to have been treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police closed off Alexandra Place at its junction with Addison Place and at the top of Common Brae during the incident.
