An 81-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Angus.
Barbara Stormont was injured in the middle of an Arbroath street on Thursday and was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A pedestrian sadly died following a road traffic collision in Keptie Street, Arbroath, yesterday.
“Barbara Stormont, 81, was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee where she later died from her injuries.
“The incident happened at around 3.25pm and involved a black Volkswagen van, the driver of which was uninjured.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
Police closed Keptie Street near its junction with Helen Street and it is understood a black van is part of investigations.
