The procurator fiscal service will consider whether to press charges over an accident that claimed the life of an Angus pensioner.
Barbara Stormont from Arbroath was involved in a collision with a car in the town’s Keptie Street on Thursday afternoon and was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee under police escort.
However the 81-year-old later died from her injuries.
Police Scotland confirmed on Monday that it had submitted a report of the circumstances of the accident to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal’s Service, who will “look at the circumstances and will decide if there will be any charges.”
Floral tributes to Mrs Stormont and cards are still present by the roadside in Keptie Street.
The incident happened at around 3.25pm and involved a black Volkswagen Transporter van, the driver of which was uninjured.
A Tayside Division spokeswoman added: “Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
