A car driver is in hospital after a crash which blocked the A92 on the outskirts of Arbroath on Saturday night.
The 48-year-old’s BMW was involved in a collision with a single-decker Stagecoach bus at the Elliot roundabout, near Arbroath Golf Club, around 7.20pm.
Police and ambulance rushed to the scene but the man did not require to be cut free from his vehicle.
He was taken to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital suffering from chest pains and facial injuries.
Early indications are that the man escaped serious injury but he remains in hospital.
The driver of the bus was not hurt.
It is not known if there were passengers on the bus at the time, but no further injured persons were reported.
The crash led to the complete closure of the road for a spell, with eastbound traffic diverted off the dual carriageway at the Arbirlot junction.
The route was re-opened to westbound traffic around 8.30pm, before being fully re-opened just before 9pm.
