Fire crews were called out to a blaze in an Arbroath flat on Saturday afternoon.
The fire occurred in a bedroom in a third-floor flat on Wardykes Road.
Two appliances from Arbroath attended the incident after the alarm was raised at 2.38pm.
Fire crews using four breathing apparatus, used a hosereel and a jet to douse the flames.
No one was present in the flat when the fire broke out.
Steven Skinner, whose girlfriend Tammy Devenney rents the flat from Angus Council, said: “I got a call from a friend that there was a fire. It was pretty bad when I arrived.
“It started in the bedroom. We think it might have been because of a faulty mobile phone charger.
“It’s burnt the bed, bedside cabinets, clothes, a TV and a computer and the bathroom and another bedroom have also been affected as well.”
No one was injured in the fire.
