Two men have been charged following the recovery of cannabis with a street value of more than £7,000 on the A90.
A 30-year-old male from East Kilbride and a 29-year-old female from Glasgow were expected at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today after roads policing officers stopped a Vauxhall Astra near Laurencekirk on Monday.
Roads Policing Inspector Jon Barron said: “Police Scotland is committed to making the areas we live hostile environments in which to deal drugs.
“There is no place for illegal substances in our communities and no place for the criminal activity and unwanted behaviour that can come with this.
“Targeting serious organised crime involving drugs is a priority for the division to ensure the north-east remains one of the safest places to live and work.
“Anyone with concerns about drug misuse where they live should contact Police on 101 or if they wish to remain anonymous the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
