Police are hunting four older teenagers who attacked a 14-year-old in Arbroath.
The youngster was assaulted in Commerce Street around 4pm on Thursday.
Polcie Scotland said the victim was walking with his friend and brother when they were approached by four males.
“One of them suspects spoke to the victim and thereafter assaulted him,” said a police spokesman.
The boy did not require hospital treatment.
The spokesman added: “Officers are keen to trace those involved.
“One of the men is described as being around 18 years of age, of thin build,with curly red hair and wearing a blue hooded top with a white circle on the front with a number inside and jeans.
“Another male is described as 18 years of age, thin build, short brown hair and wearing a grey jumper.”
