The Christmas spirit illuminated Brechin and Carnoustie at the weekend.
On Saturday BRAVO Brechin’s Christmas in the City event got under way from 11am with a range of stalls in the High Street and City Hall.
Entertainment took place indoors and outside including performances from Kelsey Logan, the Brechin Pipe Band and the city’s steel band.
The City Hall line-up included Andover School Choir, Kazzam Dance Group and the Brechin High School Orchestra and Choir.
Music played in the High Street throughout the day before Santa arrived at 12.30pm on the way to his grotto at the Townhouse Museum.
The festive lights switch-on was carried out at 4.30pm by Sarah Gilbert from Maisondieu primary, who won a poster design competition, with entries on display in the Townhouse.
Sarah was joined by Bravo characters and some very special rescue pups for the illumination.
On Sunday in Carnoustie the town’s annual Christmas light switch-on event took place with a variety of entertainment for all the family.
The street event included entertainment from young local talent before Santa arrived at 6pm and the lights went on at 7pm including the surrounding lamp feature lights.
Junior Citizen of the Year Gregor Melville was given the honour of turning the switch.
