Three-time Lakeside world champion Martin “Wolfie” Adams will join some of darts biggest names for an Angus exhibition.
The 60-year-old, who is the longest reigning England captain ever, will appear at the Panmure Hotel in Monifieth at Behind the Oche’s Game of Throws.
Adams, winner of the Lakeside BDO title in 2007, 2010 and 2011, will perform at the Angus event after competing in the 2017 World Championship.
The January 20 event will also feature tungsten talent such as 1996 Lakeside world champion Steve “The Bronzed Adonis” Beaton, former Players Championship winner Paul “The Asset” Nicholson, and nine-time Major finalist Terry “Raging Bull” Jenkins.
Robbie “Kong” Green and Andy “The Hammer” Hamilton also join local player Glen “Panda” Parsons and former Scottish football international Kevin Kyle in the line-up.
Kyle – who is a former Kilmarnock, Hearts and Rangers player – started playing darts after retiring from football and this will be his first exhibition.
Behind the Oche’s Russell Roebuck, who organised the exhibition, said it would be an “unmissable night” for darts fans in Tayside.
He said the evening would capture “all the atmosphere of a night at the darts”.
Russell said Dundee’s Glen Parsons was due his shot at the big time and wasn’t coming along to the exhibition simply to make up the numbers.
He said: “Big Glen has already taken a few PDC scalps this season on the Challenge Tour and faces his biggest challenges to date against Terry Jenkins and Martin Adams.
“Playing our pro-am element of the show is the legendary, one and only former champion of the world Steve Beaton.
“But we couldn’t have a Behind the Oche show without a twist and an England versus Scotland element.
“Playing Steve Beaton as part of the sports challenge is former Scotland international striker Kevin Kyle.
“Kevin shocked the darting world at the start of the year knocking Dutch star and BDO World championship semi-finalist Richard Veenstra out of the Scottish Open.
“After retiring from football Kevin is just at the beginning of his darts journey and this could be very interesting.”
Behind the Oche previously hosted the successful Reservoir Darts events in Forfar which featured Gary Anderson, Ted Hankey and Scott Waites.
