The brother of a murdered Angus man has pleaded with local people to examine their consciences – and help police finally bring his killer to justice. Tony English was found dead at his home in Carnoustie five years ago. A man was charged with murdering him but later freed, and his killer remains at large. Tony’s brother Damian has made a fresh plea for information about his death and said he is convinced people in Carnoustie know who the culprit is. Tony, who was 59 and worked as a driller for an offshore firm in Aberdeen and casually as a golf caddie, lived in a cottage on Kinloch Street. He moved to Angus from County Antrim in Northern Ireland and his body was discovered on the morning of December 11 2011. Damian said: “I know who the murderer is and there must be other people in Carnoustie who know who the murderer is. “I want to prick their consciences and get someone to come forward to tell the police what they know. “The family is utterly sick and disgusted that no one has ever been caught.” A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “If anyone has further information regarding this crime, Police Scotland can be contacted on 101.”
