A man is due in court on Friday in connection with the robbery of an OAP in Montrose.
Police Scotland said the 57-year-old was due to appear at Forfar in relation to the incident in Newhame Road, Montrose on Saturday December 17.
An investigation was launched after an 88-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight.
The victim was left shaken but unhurt after she fell to the ground during the robbery.
Local councillor Bill Duff said he was “absolutely shocked” by the incident and a local residet described the robbery as “cowardly.”
Police carried our door to door enquiries in the Borrowfield area and examined private CCTV footage as part of the probe,
A spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with a robbery that happened at Newhame Road, Montrose on Saturday December 17.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court today.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
