Members of an Angus riding school raised over £100 for charity with a ride-out to celebrate the new year.
Although Rowanlea Riding School’s traditional 14-mile trek was called off for 2017, around 30 riders gathered with their own horses on January 2 for a shorter route around farmlands in the area of the stables in Barry, Carnoustie.
They raised £120 in donations for Brae Riding for the Disabled.
The Rowanlea ride-out has been taking place every New Year for over 50 years and it is hoped the shorter route will help to carry on the tradition.
David Conchie Jnr, of Rowanlea, said: “The next goal is to reach year 55 with this new trek format.”
