A driver has escaped serious injury in a dramatic Angus road crash.
The man’s Audi came to rest on its roof after demolishing stone pillars and a section of wall at Dunnichen, between Forfar and Letham, shortly before 10pm on Sunday.
Forfar firefighters attended the incident but managed to free the man without the use of cutting equipment.
The road was closed for a short time as emergency services dealt with the incident.
The 61-year-old driver is thought to have been the only occupant of the vehicle and was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment to a head injury.
He was detained overnight but the full extent of his injuries and current condition are not known.
A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland attended a road traffic collision involving a grey Audi A4 car which collided with a wall at Dunnichen between Letham and Forfar at about 9.45pm last night.
“The driver, a 61-year-old man, was taken to Ninewells hospital for treatment to a head injury.”
