Man and woman to appear in court after drug haul in Kirriemuir

Two people are to appear in court after a drugs bust in Kirriemuir.

A man aged 28 and a 24-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure.

Drugs worth £28,000 were seized in the early morning raid in the Angus town’s Clova Road.

A quantity of cash was also discovered.

The pair are due to appear in Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday and a report is being prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.

Kirrie drug raid

A spokesman for Police Scotland said at around 7.15am on Thursday morning, officers acting under warrant, entered a house in Clova Road, Kirriemuir, and recovered a quantity of Etizolam tablets worth an estimated street value of more than £28,000.

Detective Inspector Scott Carswell said: “This operation has resulted in harmful drugs being removed from our streets.

“Tackling drug dealing and drug abuse remains a priority for us and the public can be assured that we will act on information and target those involved in any criminal activity.”
