The occupants of four vehicles have had a lucky escape from serious injury after two separate crashes on the A90 dual carriageway near Brechin.
The cars were involved in two seperate incidents on the southbound carriageway near the St Ann’s junction during what is thought to have been a heavy hailstorm around 11.30am on Sunday.
One of the cars, a Volvo estate, came to rest in a ditch after leaving the road and crashing down and embankment.
A Vauxhall Vectra, Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon were also involved.
Southbound traffic experienced only slight delays after the outside lane of the dual carriageway was cordoned off.
Police said the crash was initially reported as a four-vehicle incident, but transpired to be two separate accidents which took place in quick succession.
