An Arbroath school boy who underwent a vital liver transplant has arrived “home”.
In December, the family of seven-year-old Kenzy Oliver made a frantic trip to London after receiving word a suitable replacement organ had been found.
After hopping on an air ambulance from Dundee Airport, Kenzy was checked into hospital where he underwent six hours of surgery.
Kenzy was born with biliary atresia, a condition in which inflammation develops within the bile ducts around the time of birth. How he contracted it is unknown.
After weeks recovering in London’s King’s College Hospital, the seven-year-old has arrived back at Ninewells Hospital for further tests.
Posting to an army of followers on social media, Kenzy’s mum Michelle said: “Guess who is coming home to Ninewells.
“He isn’t out of the woods but well enough to be at Ninewells but if anything changes its straight back down to London.”
