A large car which was towing a boat at the harbour in Arbroath was stranded in the water on Friday night.
The vehicle was apparently driving along a small concrete slip path close to the waters edge while towing a small boat, when it became stuck as the tide closed in.
The coast guard floated a ring around the vehicle to prevent pollution from the car seeping into the sea.
An attempt will be made at low tide to try and recover the vehicle.
