A woman has been rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries following a three-car accident in north Angus.
Police from Tayside and North East divisions, Scottish Fire and Rescue, and the Scottish Ambulance Service are at the scene of the crash near North Craigo, between Hillside and Marykirk on the A937.
A Citroen Xsara, Ford Focus and Vauxhall Mokka were involved in the collision, which happened around 1pm.
A fire crew helped the woman free from her car, and she was then taken to Ninewells Hospital under police escort.
Another occupant of one car was also treated by paramedics at the scene, and is understood to have suffered a more minor injury.
The road was closed and local diversions put in place.
A spokeswoman for North East Division said: “A member of the public contacted us in relation to an incident at North Craigo around 1pm.
“There was a collision between three vehicles between Marykirk and Hillside, and two ambulances are in attendance.
“We have a unit there and the Tayside traffic unit are also there.
“Fire and rescue have one engine in attendance and personnel are trying to free one person from a vehicle.
“One injury has been reported but it is not believed to be serious.”
A spokeswoman for Tayside Division said the collision was “serious”.
“A woman is being taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee with serious leg injuries and there is a report of a further casualty who is being treated at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service,” she said.
“Anyone who has information that can assist officers with their enquiries into the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
