From the grey lady to the ‘tongueless woman’, Glamis Castle boasts a ghastly array of ghosts, ghouls and spooky spectres.
And now the historic Angus attraction is inviting brave visitors to meet them on special Halloween tours inside the castle walls.
Running from 5pm to 9pm on October 28 to 30, and from 5pm to 10pm on October 31, visitors will be led through the castle by an expert tour guide who will reveal stories of the ghosts said to haunt its corridors.
As well as hearing creepy tales of the grey lady and the ‘tongueless woman’, visitors will experience spine-tingling thrills and scares through a variety of atmospheric lighting and sound effects with ghostly figures waiting in the shadows.
Unexpected frights
Tours begin at the castle entrance, with guest making their way through the castle’s many majestic rooms including the drawing room, billiard room and the chapel which will be filled with some unexpected frights.
While there will be some ‘scares’ during Ghosts of Glamis, the castle is keen to welcome people of all ages.

“It’s the ideal place for those looking to celebrate Halloween this year.
“The combination of the spooky stories, told brilliantly by our talented tour guides, and incredible effects as brave visitors walk through the castle will thrill and chill in equal measure.”
Drinks and snacks
The Castle Kitchen Restaurant will be open during the tours for visitors looking to have some dinner or sit down for a drink.
The outdoor Hub café will also be open providing hot and cold drinks and snacks.
The Pavilion Gift Shop will be open into the evening to allow visitors to begin their Christmas shopping in style.
