Excitement will be sweeping Brechin today with the news that some lucky locals are in line for share of a £3 million People’s Postcode Lottery prize pot.
And they have just days to find out how much of a windfall will be coming their way when the champagne corks pop at an April Fool’s Day prize presentation event in the grand surroundings of an Angus stately home.
People’s Postcode Lottery chiefs have revealed that players in Brechin’s ‘DD9 6’ postcode area have been picked out to share a £3 million jackpot in the March Postcode Millions draw.
Invitations will be dropping through local letterboxes today for the lucky players to pop along to House of Dun, near Montrose, on Saturday April 1 when they will find out exactly how much will be coming their way.
People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador and TV presenter, Jeff Brazier, who will be presenting the winning cheques on the day said: “I just can’t wait to head up to meet our lucky winners in Brechin and reveal those cheques.
“There will be some delighted faces on the day, both from our players and from the charities that they’ve supported.
“Good luck to all our wonderful players.”
People’s Postcode Lottery players have raised £182.7 million for charities, with Dundee Rep one of the beneficiaries after it received a £15,000 windfall for its youth dance initiative.
Lottery bosses are expected to reveal more details of the local win – including the minimum amount the Brechin players can expect to receive – ahead of the prize presentation.
Last month’s East Devon winners scooped up cheques ranging from £17,000 up to a whopping £234,000.
