The wife of a motorcyclist killed in an Angus crash says she is “broken” by the loss of “the kindest, most generous man”.
Jonathan Marsh – known as Jon – from Brechin, was involved in a collision with an electric car on the B961 at Monikie on Tuesday night.
The 48-year-old died at the scene. No one else was injured.
In a statement provided to The Courier, wife Tracey said: “Jon was the kindest, most generous man anyone could ever hope to meet.
‘We held hands everywhere we went’
“He loved me and our son Ewan with his whole heart and it was obvious to anyone who saw us together.
“We held hands everywhere we went.
“I rode pillion countless times because I trusted him wholeheartedly.
“I loved him with my whole being and I’m heartbroken that my life must continue without him.”
Biking groups have also paid tribute to Mr Marsh.
A statement from the Rejects MCC club, of which he was a member, said: “It is with a heavy heart that we are writing this.
“Rejects MCC East Coast has lost one of its brothers, Jon Marsh.
“He was genuinely a great guy with a wicked sense of humour who would’ve done anything for anyone.
“He will be sorely missed but always remembered. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. R.IP our friend, our brother.”
Jon was a popular biker and he and Tracey were just perfect together
Royal Marine Association Riders
A statement from Royal Marine Association Riders said: “The Royal Marine Riders are devastated to hear that another brother rider has had his life tragically cut short.
“Jon and his wife Tracey have supported our events at Arbroath harbour since (the group) was conceived nearly three years ago.
“Jon was a popular biker and he and Tracey were just perfect together. They bounced off of each other.
“Tracey ran our auto jumble store and helped us to raise thousands for local charities.
“We know that Tracey is hurting but we are all there for her and their family.
“Jon will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. Once a biker, always a biker. Ride free brother.”
Investigation into crash continues
Sergeant Kevin Wilkie from Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts are very much with Jonathan’s family at this very difficult time.
“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened is ongoing and we continue to appeal to anyone who can assist, who has not already spoken with officers, to please get in touch.
