Young Angus posties are ready to address their biggest fundraiser of the year.
At the weekend youngsters of the 1st Carnoustie Scout Group launched their Christmas post at the town’s Co-op.
They hope it will raise around £2,000 to help maintain the Links Avenue hall that is home to 130 Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
All the groups are thriving and the Carnoustie team is ready to share its experience with other local groups to make the festive scheme an even bigger success.
The 1st Carnoustie (6th Angus) group has been going for more than 110 years.
And they join forces each year with Arbroath to help offer the service over a wide area.
A Carnoustie group spokesperson said: “The Scout post is always a superb fundraiser that not only raises vital funds but also allows all members of the Scouts to be working within the wider community.
“Although the postboxes are in Carnoustie and the surrounding area, cards are passed and received from other Scouting groups in Arbroath, Monifieth and Broughty Ferry.
“It means a fantastic service to a larger area.
“Each and every person within Carnoustie 1st Scouts is incredibly grateful for the support they receive in this fundraiser.”
Talented youngsters have also designed a Christmas card that is being turned into a digital version for local businesses to send out.
“We are very grateful to Walker Dunnett & Co, Caltech Lifts, Golf Veterinary Practice and Klas Services for their donations and support,” said the group.
