Drivers faced three-mile tailbacks after a one-vehicle crash on the A90 near Forfar.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the incident just before 4pm on Friday.
There were no reported injuries as the vehicle was recovered from the northbound carriageway.
Motorists said there were tailbacks around the Forfar Loch as a result of the incident.
Vehicle recovered
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a crash involving a single vehicle on the A90 northbound near Forfar around 3.50pm on Friday, 16 December.
“The vehicle has been recovered and the road is clear.”
