Glamis Prom organisers have announced a line-up for this summer’s event which will include a debut visit by West End star Lee Mead.
The Joseph, Wicked and Legally Blonde performer, who is also a favourite on the nation’s television screens through roles in Casualty and Holby City, will be joined on the open-air Angus stage by Christina Bianco and Jai McDowall on Saturday July 15.
The event has returned to form as one of the area’s summer highlights, and the Glamis Prom Orchestra will also be joined by the eight-piece Soul Nation choir.
Organisers are also keeping a special announcement of a further addition to the line-up up their sleeve.
A spokesperson for the event promised a “lavish concert and a spectacular evening of beautiful music.”
They added: “The Glamis audience can expect an exciting medley of hits from all the best-loved musicals plus a few surprises thrown in too and the stars of the show are looking forward to performing in such a beautiful setting at Glamis Castle.
Bianco’s Broadway credits include Me Myself & Everyone Else whilst Ayshire-born McDowall found fame as the 2011 winner of Britain’s Got Talent, performing at that year’s Royal Variety show.
West End heart-throb Mead said he is relishing his first trip to the Angus landmark.
“I am beyond excited to have been asked to sing at the Glamis Prom this year and to be back singing once again in Scotland which is just so beautiful,” he said.
“I can’t think of a better setting to sing with an orchestra.
“It’s going to be a very special evening, one to remember.”
The prom is set against the stunning backdrop of Glamis Castle and music lovers can purchase gazebo pitches and bring their own picnics to enjoy al fresco on the lawn of the landmark.
