A group of Montrose colleagues have struck lucky winning £1 million in a lottery syndicate.
BBC drama ‘The Syndicate’ became a reality for employees at GPG Montrose Ltd, who won the EuroMillions draw.
The group of 10 successfully selected the five main numbers and two lucky stars to scoop the cash prize.
A spokesperson confirmed the win to The Courier, but declined to comment.
Lotto win ‘fantastic news’ for Montrose garage
Montrose councillor Tommy Stewart offered his congratulations to the group.
He said: “It’s absolutely fantastic news and I am delighted for them.
“I know a number of employees at GPG and they’re a great bunch of people.
“It’s great to hear of this sort of thing happening to people from the area.
“You always see news of people winning lottery money but it seems like it never happens to anyone who lives in Montrose. It’s as if no one local is lucky enough to win.
“I’m really happy for them and I wish them the best of luck with their spending.”
The lottery win comes nearly two years after Arbroath mother Alicia Harper won £1m after buying a last-minute ticket.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery said they could not confirm the group had won the money.
