The A92 north of St Cyrus was blocked on Thursday morning following a two-vehicle accident.
The crash between a car and a lorry happened at 7.10am but there were not thought to be any serious injuries.
The road was closed in both directions from the entrance to St Cyrus primary school with diversions put in place.
A recovery vehicle was at the scene to take away the damaged car.
