Long-serving Forfar SNP councillor Glennis Middleton lost her seat in a shock result.
Fellow SNP member Lynne Devine retained her seat as did Independents Ian McLaren and Colin Brown.
Braden Davy (Conservatives) received the most first preference votes.
Mr McLaren said: “I am very honoured to be re-elected for Forfar and District and I would like to thank all the constituents for the support I have received.”
