A man has died after a crash in Carnoustie where a car collided with a wall.
The 42-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which took place on Newton Road early on Sunday.
His identity has not been revealed.
Collison with wall
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 42-year-old man has died following a crash in Carnoustie in the early hours of Sunday.
“Around 2.50am, a Volkswagen Golf collided with the boundary wall of a property on Newton Road in the town.
“Emergency services attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Sergeant William Strachan from Tayside Police Road Safety Unit said: “We would pass our condolences to the family and friends of the man who died.
“Our inquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone in the area who saw what happened to please contact us.
Appeal for CCTV footage
““We would also urge drivers and local residents to check their dash-cam and CCTV footage for anything that could help.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a crash in Newton Road, Carnoustie at 3.02am on Sunday.
“We sent two appliances – one from Balmossie and one from Arbroath.
“We were involved in making the scene safe.
“We left the scene at 3.40pm.”
