A woman has been taken to Ninewells Hospital after a car flipped on its roof in Carnoustie.
Emergency crews were called to the one-vehicle crash on Kinloch Street in the Angus town at around 11.30am on Thursday.
The road was closed for several hours while police, fire crews and paramedics dealt with the incident – but has since reopened.
The extent of the woman’s injuries is not yet known.
Driver taken to Ninewells after crash
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call today at 11.41am to attend an incident on Kinloch Street in Carnoustie.
“We dispatched one ambulance and our special operations team to the scene. We transported one female patient to Ninewells.”
Shortly following the incident, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance on Kinloch Street in Carnoustie following a one-vehicle crash which happened at around 11.35am. on Thursday.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”
Fire crews in attendance
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say they first received reports of the incident at around 11.39am.
A spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a crash in Carnoustie.
“We have two appliances from Balmossie on the way.
“There are no further details at this stage.”
An eye-witness described seeing a car on its roof in Kinloch Street in the Angus town.
He said: “I was driving along Kinloch Street which is a route I would take regularly into town.
“The car was right on its roof, the doors were open and it looked as if both air bags had been deployed.
“Concerned residents were at the scene waiting for the emergency services to turn up. I’m not sure if anyone was hurt or not.”
