The first image of Hollywood A-list actor Gerard Butler appearing as an Arbroath lighthouse keeper has been released as it heads to the Cannes Film Festival.
The Paisley-born actor appears alongside fellow Scot Peter Mullan and newcomer Connor Swindells in Keepers.
The Paisley-born actor plays Arbroath lighthouse keeper James Ducat who was one of three men to vanish without a trace from the island of Eilean Mor in the Outer Hebrides in 1900.
The six-week shoot in Dumfries and Galloway has just finished, with three lighthouses across the region have being used.
Butler, who has featured in several Hollywood titles including 300, Law Abiding Citizen and Coriolanus, had posted a video on social media about it was good to be back filming in Scotland as it was “paradise”.
The producers of the film are bringing it to Cannes as they try to sell international rights to the film.
