Four teenagers have been charged in connection with a four-figure Mearns farm fire earlier this month.
Around 120 bales of hay, worth an estimated £2,500 were destroyed in the incident at St Cyrus on Saturday May 6.
Police Scotland have now confirmed that the group of 14-year-olds have been charged and reported to the Children’s Reporter in relation to the incident.
PC Marc Camus of the Kincardine and Mearns Community Policing Team said: “I’d like to thank the community for their assistance and support with this investigation.
“Not only has this incident impacted on the farmer but could have had far more serious consequences.”
