Police believe an Angus street assault was filmed by people on mobile phones.
The Tayside division of Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred in Union Street Brechin, around 8.20pm, on Tuesday May 16.
A man was seen to assault a woman by knocking her to the ground, then punch and kick her.
A spokesman said: “This happened in full view of the public, and it is thought that a number of persons were present and saw what happened, and some may even have filmed this on mobile phones.
“It is appreciated that this incident happened over two weeks ago, however anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside Division on 101 quoting CR/12599/17 or speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
It is understood a suspect has been traced and charged in connection with the incident.
