Electricity chiefs have said sorry for a fault which left more than 800 Forfar homes without power on Friday night.
The blackout affected homes in the east end of the town, including the vicinity of Montrose Road and Easterbank.
The fault struck at 9.50pm and an SSE spokesman said a total of 813 customers in the DD8 postcode area were affected.
Power was returned to the vast majority of homes within an hour, but some customers remained without electricity until around 5am.
Engineers are completing an investigation into the cause of the issue, which was due to a faulty product box.
The SSE spokesman added: “We would apologise for the problems encountered by customers affected, and thank them for their patience during the work to get everyone back on.”
