A motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after he was involved in a collision with an HGV in Angus on Monday.
The 26-year-old was taken to Ninewells following the crash on the B9113 at the Pitkennedy crossroads between Forfar and Montrose.
The 47-year-old driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.
Police are appealing for any information following the 11.25am incident that closed the road for several hours.
Motorcyclist taken to hospital by ambulance
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Road policing officers are appealing for information after a serious road crash on the B9113 at the Pitkennedy crossroads around 11.25am on Monday.
“The crash involved a Kawaski motorbike and a Renault HGV.
“Police and ambulance attended, and the 26-year-old motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where hospital staff describe his condition as critical.
“The 47-year-old male driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.”
Police appeal for dashcam footage
Sergeant Gordon Dickson, from Tayside Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has information that may assist our investigation to please contact us.
“I would also ask anyone driving on this road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam to get in touch.
“Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference number 1079 of 24 July.”
