Tributes have been paid to a popular Angus footballer who died suddenly at the weekend, aged 33 years old.
Stuart Gordon died at his home in North Street on Saturday July 15.
The former Forfar Academy pupil, a joiner, played as a goalkeeper for a number of local football teams including Morgan FP Amateur FC, Forfar West End juniors and Strathmore pub side.
Mr Gordon, known to his football teammates as “Yap”, would have been 34 on July 28.
He is survived by parents Keith and Sandra, and his sister Katy.
Police said no further investigation would take place.
A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland attended at North Street, Forfar at 6.30pm on Saturday July 15 after the sudden death of a 33-year-old man.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A number of Mr Gordon’s friends paid tribute to him on social media, one saying he had “an absolute heart of gold” and was “one of the nicest guys I have met.”
