A popular pub in an Angus town has announced its closure “with immediate effect”.
Pipers Lounge Bar and Kitchen in Monifeith made the surprise announcement that it had closed its doors for good earlier today.
Management said the closure is “outwith” their control.
A statement from the bar’s management said: “It is with regret that due to circumstances outwith our control Piper’s has ceased trading with immediate effect.
“The management and staff would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and wish you all the very best for the future.”
The High Street premises served traditional bar food, beers, spirits and coffee.
Pipers have been approached for a comment.
