Police have issued a description of the man being hunted in connection with a daylight purse snatch on an Arbroath 81-year-old.
The OAP was shaken but unhurt in the Monday incident, moments after she had collected her pension from the town’s Cairnie Street post office.
The victim has said she is determined that the incident will not deter her from venturing out.
A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after an 81-year-old woman was robbed of her purse in St Vigeans Road, Arbroath.
“The incident took place at 1pm on Monday August 7.
“The victim believes it was a man responsible, who was wearing dark clothing, possibly grey and a woollen hat.
“It is understood he ran off towards Howard Street.”
“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting CR/20574/17 or speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
