Police have released a new image of missing 17-year-old Elizabeth Toledo in the hope it will help them locate the teenager, who vanished 10 days ago.
Known as Libbi, she was last seen on Veronica Crescent in Kirkcaldy around 1pm on Monday September 11.
She was reported missing at around 1.45am the following morning when she failed to return to her accommodation at an assisted living facility in the town.
Police are investigating three possible sightings in Kirkcaldy – the first at the Morrisons Supermarket on the Esplanade on September 11 and two more in Alison Street on September 13 and 15.
Libbi, who is 5ft 6ins and slim with brown eyes and pierced ears, has family in the Forfar, Brechin and Arbroath areas
In an interview on Monday, her mother said she was growing “more worried and scared” as each day passed without word from her daughter.
Inspector Gordon Anderson of Kirkcaldy said: “It’s out of character for Libbi not to return to her accommodation or speak to family for this length of time and we are very concerned for her welfare.
“A robust investigation to trace Libbi is currently underway, supported by our colleagues in the Tayside area and specialist resources from both local and national departments.
“However, we’re continuing appeal for the public’s help as part of this.
“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital in helping us trace Libbi.
“Please contact us as soon as possible if you may have seen her, or have any information about where she may be.
“Information can be passed to local officers at Kirkcaldy Police Station by calling 101 and quoting incident number 0177 of September 12.
“If you’d rather not speak to police, you can pass information confidentially to the charity Missing People by calling or texting 116 000 or emailing 116000@missingpeople.org.uk”
