An Angus motorist’s car has been damaged after thugs allegedly planted a home-made ‘stinger’ device on the road.
The motorist was driving along King Street in Ferryden on Friday night at around 9.30pm when the car’s tyres were ripped apart by nails jutting out from a metre-long piece of wood left in the road.
Police have confirmed they are looking into the incident.
Local councillor Tommy Stewart blasted the culprits.
“I don’t understand it all,” he said.
“It’s shocking and it’s very dangerous. It certainly looks sinister.
“We will need to leave the police to do their investigations but I think it would be difficult to find whoever did it.”
