Acclaimed US comedian Rich Hall will be coming to Arbroath next year to entertain locals with his deadpan-style humour.
The Virginia-born 63-year-old will perform at the Webster Memorial Theatre on Sunday February 25 as part of his UK-wide tour, Rich Hall’s Hoedown.
Known as a master of absurdist irony and the king of rapid-fire wit, Hall’s gig promises to be a mash-up of music, comedy and gratuitous coloration featuring the very best of comedy and music.
Also performing will be Rich’s accompanying band.
The Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana with stand-up, improvised ballads, and skilled musicianship.
Having started as a street comedian in the US, he is now a big-hitter of UK TV and radio.
He is the star of the critically acclaimed BBC Four documentaries Rich Hall’s Californian Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go To Hell, I’m Going To Texas, Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian and his most recent Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match.
He also wrote and starred in a four-part series for BBC Radio 4 in November 2016 called Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown and has appeared on shows such as Have I Got News For You and QI.
Doug Taylor, arts and events programme manager for ANGUSalive said: “Rich Hall live is a wonderful thing.
“His hilarious shows are legend and we’re already really looking forward to showing him how great our Angus audiences are.”
