UPDATE: The road is now clear and there were no serious injuries, a Police Scotland spokesman has confirmed.
A person has been trapped in their car after a crash near Marykirk.
Police, fire and ambulance services are still in attendance at the two car road traffic collision on the B974.
Emergency services were called to the scene on at 5.55pm and are cutting someone free with hydraulic cutting equipment, a Fire Scotland and Rescue Service spokesman said.
