A skip fire forced the closure of Kirriemuir recycling centre on Friday.
Angus Council said a skip was badly damaged in the incident, which happened just before 7am.
Kirriemuir firefighters used a hose jet to deal with the blaze.
“Scottish Fire and Rescue service attended and extinguished the blaze, which has left the skip badly damaged,” said a council spokesman.
“Work is under way to clear the debris caused by the incident with a view to re-opening the site as quickly as possible. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
