A ward in an Angus hospital has been closed to new admissions after an outbreak of what appears to be influenza.
Ward 7 at Stracathro Hospital is not taking any new admissions due to some patients who have “flu-like” symptoms, an NHS Tayside spokesman has said.
Ward 5 at Ninewells Hospital remains closed to new admissions due to a small number of patients who have influenza A.
Patients in the wards are being monitored and appropriate infection control and prevention measures are in place, the spokesman added.
To help reduce the spread of infection, people are asked to avoid visiting if possible and visitors who have coughs and colds which could be flu are asked not to visit friends and relatives until they are better.
NHS Tayside has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
