The quest has kicked off to find the top achievers in sport in Angus over the past 12 months.
A selection panel will convene this week to decide the Angus Alive Sports Awards shortlist from 71 nominations which have been announced for individuals, clubs and teams.
Martial artist Catriona Steele, the Edzell mum of four who took two golds at the TaeKwon-Do world cup, won last year’s Sports Personality of the Year award while track star Eilish McColgan received an Olympic Recognition award.
Lisa Houston, sports development officer from Angus Alive, said: “The nomination process for the Angus Alive Sports Awards 2017 closed on Monday January 8, with a fantastic 71 individuals, teams, and clubs nominated.
“The independent selection panel will convene this week to decide the shortlist and winners for each of the nine award categories.”
