Police say a man found bleeding at Arbroath Bus Station last night may have been assaulted.
The man was discovered in an intoxicated state in the waiting room at around 6.30pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Initial enquiries, along with the man’s own recollection of events, led officers to believe that he had fallen and injured himself.
“However, it has since come to our attention that this man may have been assaulted, and we have already spoken with a number of persons who may have been involved.
“We are also aware of a lot of speculation on local social media which is unhelpful, particularly if names are being mentioned of persons who may or may not be involved.
“If you saw what happened or have any other relevant information that could help us investigate this incident, please contact us on 101 or speak to any police officer.”
