A man was flown to hospital with head injuries after a fall at a Mearns cycling route on Sunday.
Police and ambulance staff were scrambled to the scene at Drumtochty Woods near Laurencekirk.
An air ambulance was requested due to the rural location and the man was airlifted away around 1.30pm.
Police said his injuries were “not serious”, however the helicopter was called in due to the rural location.
The cyclist is said to have fallen and hit his head.
The helicopter was spotted flying south.
Drumtochty is a popular cycling forest trail.
