The funeral takes place in Brechin on Monday of David Alexander Pitkethly, the last Burgh Surveyor and Sanitary Inspector for Brechin.
He died on March 1 after a short Illness at Stracathro Hospital.
After Regionalisation in 1975, he became Building Control Officer for Angus Council, now Angus District Council.
He retired in 1987 having served 43 years in local government and would have been 90 years old in a few weeks.
He was a past chairman of Brechin Round Table, a member of the 41 Club, past president of Brechin Rotary Club and past elder of Brechin Cathedral.
A keen golfer he was a former member of Edzell Golf Club and also enjoyed gardening.
Mr Pitkethly is survived by Mae, his wife of 61 years, three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His funeral takes place on March 12 at 1.30pm in Brechin Cathedral, followed by a private committal at Parkgrove Crematorium.
