A snow warning has been issued for parts of Tayside as forecasters predict a spell of cold weather.
A yellow Met Office warning for the white stuff will be in effect from Thursday at 9pm until Friday at noon.
Rural areas of Angus and Perthshire are expected to be hit by the snow, which is most likely to land on higher ground.
Flurries may come to lower levels in the area, but will struggle to settle.
However the forecaster has warned that some local roads may be affected by the conditions.
The Met Office’s chief forecaster said: “Rain will turn to snow over higher hills during Thursday daytime and then to some lower levels during Thursday night.
“A few centimetres of snow may affect higher routes before a slow improvement follows during Friday daytime.
“At lower levels, snow will probably struggle to settle on tarmac and concrete surfaces. Some icy patches are also possible.”
Earlier this week, the Met Office dispelled rumours of a “Beast from the East III”.
