Five Arbroath teenagers have been identified following a number of assaults and disorder offences.
In an effort to tackle anti-social behaviour and disorder of youths in the town, Police Scotland has confirmed a 13 year old boy has been reported to the Children’s Reporter for two assaults.
Two boys aged 14 and 15 were also reported to the Children’s Reporter for three assaults and two boys aged 13 and 14 were reported to the Youth Justice Assessor for disorder offences.
Local Inspector Gary Aitken said: “Arbroath is a great place to live and work and the majority of youths in the town never come to the attention of the police, but unfortunately there is a minority that get involved in anti-social behaviour or disorder.
“Anti-social behaviour, such as large groups of people congregating and making lots of noise, is a nuisance for residents and causes concern.
“Residents, particularly older members of the community, can feel intimidated and anxious by large groups
“‘I would encourage residents and businesses to report any anti-social behaviour or disorder to Police Scotland on 101 and anyone found to be responsible will be reported to the relevant authorities”.
